Modelling Kanedas Bike

I have always been a fan of Akira, and Kaneda’s bike is one of the most iconic.

The plan is using the cartoon and other sources as a reference reimagine the bike in high detail ready for animation keeping the aesthetics while making it mechanically viable and bringing it up to date.

When the animated film was released in 1988 a fairly faithful real world prototype was made for shots but nowadays it looks a little dated and not mechanically sound. For example there is no way the rake angle and fork setup would work well (if at all) on the front. Akira was set in 2019 in the film so I’m going to recreate using current technology (less switches!)
